WORKSHOPS FOR ENTREPRENEURS IN KUWAIT

A workshop for entrepreneurs of arab gulf countries (GULF) at 29/9/2013-3/10/2013 was organized by the International Science, Technology and Innovation Centre for South-South Cooperation (ISTIC) headquartered in Kuala Lumpur and collaboration with the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) based in Kuwait. ISTIC supported by Usains Holding Sdn. Limited., wholly owned by the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) for conducting the workshops. ISTIC goal is to build the capacity of science and technology through the field of techno-entrepreneurs who have emerged as a new method in the improvement of the economy based on innovation. The workshop aims to create a lot of a viable and competent techno-entrepreneurs. This workshop reveals the knowledge and experience on various topics related to the techno- entrepreneurs from the perspective of Malaysia and Kuwait. It discusses the awareness, understanding, and motivation to participants through the materials and lectures related to the build impact, technology development, business ideas, evaluating opportunities, business model, financial resources, and intellectual property (IP). The ultimate goal is to improve awareness and knowledge of the participants about the future techno-entrepreneurs and have thought of a creative and innovative entrepreneurs. A total of 45 participants from 11 countries such as Malaysia, Egypt, India, Oman, Qatar, Tunisia, Kenya, Zambia, Pakistan, Sudan and Kuwait attended this workshop. Participants were those from various professional fields and academic background such as PhD holder and professor. Attendees of the State of Kuwait is from KISR, Ministry of Commercial and Industry, and the University of Kuwait.
